US: Orlando shooter hit 8 times by police: autopsy
The Orlando medical examiner`s report, cited in U.S. media reports, showed Omar Mateen, 29, sustained gunshot wounds to his head, neck, chest, abdomen, calf and foot.
No drugs or alcohol were found in Mateen`s body but his urine had abnormally high levels of a compound associated with the consumption of a bodybuilding supplement. The report added that his testosterone range was normal.
The medical examiner`s office also published autopsy reports on some of the victims and said it would reveal more next week.
On the night of June 12, Mateen unleashed a carnage at the Pulse nightclub, pledging allegiance to the Daesh terrorist group in a 911 call before being killed in a police operation.
The shooting spree is considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.
