Ilham Aliyev stressed Russia’s role in efforts aimed at settling the conflict, AzVision.az reported citing RIA Novosti.
He noted that the Saint Petersburg meeting which took place in June was dedicated to this issue.
“I’m thankful to you for your active involvement in this process,” Ilham Aliyev said to Putin.
The Azerbaijani president noted that regular meetings between the Azerbaijani and Russian presidents give new impetus to the development of bilateral relations that have reached the level of strategic partnership.
“We closely cooperate within all international organizations, strengthening political dialogue and economic ties,” Ilham Aliyev said.
He added that the trilateral meeting of the Russian, Azerbaijani, and Iranian leaders will serve development of economic cooperation in the region and will strengthen security.
