The Consulate General noted that the July 15 coup attempt was prevented thanks to the power of the people, law-enforcement agencies and the army. “The coup attempt passed through a period of preparation, provocations were committed from time to time and attempts were made to undermine the economy. Though some naive people believed it, the will of the people won and either the government and opposition forces demonstrated solidarity for the sake of democracy”, he said.
Isik emphasized that as in all issues, Azerbaijan stood with Turkey in the fight against FETO too. The Turkish diplomat added that people’s unified national will during the July developments is a model for the regional countries.
