Presidents of Venezuela and Colombia agreed to open border
Presidents of Venezuela and Colombia Nicolás Maduro and Juan Manuel Santos announced mutual agreement to reopen the crossing points on the border between the two countries, which was closed a years ago at the initiative of Venezuela. In July Venezuela unilaterally twice opened border that Venezuelans could buy necessary products and drugs.
At the first stage the border will be open only for pedestrians: five border crossings will be organized on Saturday which will be open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.

According to the presidents, it will be possible to open borders for transport only after the conclusion of separate interstate agreements on safety, trade and power, BBC reported.

Nicolás Maduro has disposed to close border with Colombia in August, 2015 for safety reasons after several Colombian fighters who were earlier consisting in one of illegal armed groups have attacked the Venezuelan boundary patrol and have wounded three servicemen.
