`Despite long geographical distance, Korea and Azerbaijan have a lot in common`
In spite of the long geographical distance, Korea and Azerbaijan have a lot in common, South Korean Interior Minister Hong Yun-sik said in Baku on Friday.
Mr. Hong Yun-sik said today’s Azerbaijan-Korea cooperation forum is aimed at broadening bilateral ties and sharing Korean experience.

“I hope that Korean and Azerbaijan will do their utmost to improve the social welfare of their citizens. In spite of the long geographical distance, the two countries have a lot in common. The languages of the two countries belong to the Altaic language family and thus have almost the same grammatical structure. Both countries have long been a target for neighboring countries but managed to establish their own states. The two countries have had diplomatic relations for more than 25 years now. Mutual exchanges will take place for cooperation in the future. This forum is going to lead our cooperation in various areas to deepen further. Hope our cooperation flourishes further,” the minister noted.
