According to her, the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Venice Commission is very limited during few past years in general.
“However, so far we have not received a request from the Azerbaijani authorities nor from the statutory bodies of the Council of Europe or international organizations,” Mychelova noted.
Earlier, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to hold a referendum on Sept. 26 for making amendments to the country’s Constitution.

The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe stands ready to work on a request for opinion on the draft constitutional amendments, the subject of the 26 September referendum in Azerbaijan, the commission external relations officer, Tatiana Mychelova, told on Aug.25.
