Italy expects rise in trade turnover with Azerbaijan in 2016
Italy is anticipating an increase in the trade turnover with Azerbaijan in the second half of 2016, Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Giampaolo Cutillo told reporters on August 30.
The Italy-Azerbaijan trade turnover decreased by 50% in the first half of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, the ambassador noted.

“The decline in the trade turnover was predicted beforehand due to the general economic situation and oil prices. We are expecting the turnover will increase in the second half of 2016,” Cutillo said, adding that Italy still remains the largest trade partner of Azerbaijan.

With regard to the implementation of the TAP project, the ambassador said that after Greece and Albania, the construction work launched in the Italian sector in May this year.
