Los Angeles Times: Armenia to bring EAU more economic problems
Armenia will bring the Eurasian Economic Union (EAU) more economic problems than the development prospects, The Los Angeles Times newspaper’s article entitled "Putin expands the EAU - competing with the European bloc" says, the Armenian media reported.

The newspaper wrote that Russia expands EAU, trying to compete with the EU.

"Such an alliance of former Soviet republics is designed for the EU counterbalance,” the statement said. “Its political and economic "cohesion" reached the borders of Russia. The matter rests in Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries involved in the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance during the "Cold War"."

Kyrgyzstan is the poorest country of the former Soviet bloc. Its joining will hardly to contribute to the EAU prosperity.

As for Armenia, it will bring more economic problems than the development prospects given its GDP per capita worth $6,300 and a protracted conflict with Azerbaijan, the statement says.
