"I am sure that [Lavrov`s] speech at the general-political discussion in late September will contain new actual initiatives. Of course, it is too early to disclose them now," Churkin told the Russian Izvestia newspaper in an interview, published Monday.
According to the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian officials such as head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the upper house of parliament Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Foreign Ministry’s legal department Roman Kolodkin, director of the ministry’s International Organizations Department Alexander Pankin are also included in the delegation. The 71th session of the UN General Assembly is scheduled to open on September 13 at the UN headquarters in New York.
