Bulgarian PM offers Azerbaijan to participate in trilateral talks with EU
Russia-Bulgaria-EU trilateral meeting is necessary to hold talks on transportation of Russian gas considered for Balkan gas hub, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said.
“We are ready to conduct negotiations with any party intending to transport gas to our country. Such projects cannot bypass Bulgaria. We intend to turn into a regional centre and will not miss this chance. We refused Southern Stream project due to Ukrainian conflict and understand what we have lost. Now, we are ready for trilateral talks. Two of the parties in the trilateral talks are Bulgaria and EU. The third party may be Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkmenistan. Everything depends on their intention. Bulgaria guarantees that the project will be long-term. However, EU also must provide its guarantees as a party”, the prime minister said.
