Azerbaijan, UK mull military cooperation
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has met with UK Secretary of State for Defense Michael Fallon as part of his visit to London, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said on Sept. 9.
According to the instruction of Azerbaijani President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the importance of development of relations between the two countries in all spheres, particularly in the military field was discussed during the meeting, organized for the first time at the level of the two countries’ defense ministries.

The sides also exchanged views on issues related to the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Moreover, Azerbaijan`s active participation in the events organized on a bilateral basis as well as within the framework of the NATO "Partnership for Peace" Programme including peacekeeping operations was also emphasized during the meeting.

The sides carried out wide exchange of views on military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries and discussed future prospects of cooperation.
