` The legalized mandate of the US Congress on Azerbaijan which can be used in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict does not allow to sell weapons`, US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick said, AzVision.az reports citing Interfax.
`We clearly understand that Russian and US positions are different. Russia has had close ties with both countries for a long time. We appreciate these ties`, Warlick said in his responses to the questions on Russia’s weapons sell to Azerbaijan, Russia’s support to Armenia, as well as military-technical cooperation between the USA and Armenia; and the USA and Azerbaijan and the impacts of all these on April fights.
`US wants to have close cooperation with Azerbaijan and Armenia. We do not sell weapons to any of the sides. We only supply the sides with limited number of defense weapons`, Warlick stated.
`The legalized mandate of the US Congress on Azerbaijan which can be used in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict does not allow to sell weapons. In this manner, US cannot be considered as a weapon supplier. It has strategic partnerships with Azerbaijan and Armenia`, he added.
