Pope Francis thanks Azerbaijani sculptor for making his bust
Pope Francis has sent a letter of thanks to Azerbaijani sculptor Zeynalabdin Isgandarov who made his bust.
In his letter, Pope Francis expressed satisfaction with the present, Pope Francis told.

The sculptor mentioned that the bust was made in Rome with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Vatican this summer.

“Under-Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Monsignor Melchor Sanchez de Toca Alameda asked me to make the pontiff’s bust. President of the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, Professor Alfio Mongelli created conditions for me in Rome and I made the bust. The Pope liked it. He intended to receive me. However, as my visa expired and the Pope visited Armenia, he couldn’t receive. Recently, the Pope has sent me a letter of thanks. The letter is written in Spanish,” said the sculptor.
