Student hostel of 1000-person capacity to build in Azerbaijan
A new modern student hostel will be built in Azerbaijan.
Education minister Mikayil Jabbarov noted that everyone knew why especially in the bigger cities, first of all in the capital, the number of student hostels are so small or there is no hostels of some universities at all: “With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation positively responding our initiative, the project of the student hostel to accommodate one thousand students in the center of the city has been launched. This project is another example of the state and private sector partnership. At the moment designing of the project has been completed and incoming days the construction will kick off. The modern student hostel will be built taking student infrastructure and today’s mode of life into consideration basing on the latest standards.”

The Education minister noted that the new hostel will be constructed in the territories of the relevant state universities, especially in the territory in the balance of Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry: “But this project has its own feature. We will pursue such a policy that not only students of the State University of Oil and Industry but also other universities whose students are in need will have possibility to accommodate their students according to relevant quotas,” added the minister.
