Refugee spends hours on top moving train in desperate attempt to get to Germany
A shocking incident took place on a train en route from Austria to Germany when a 17-year-old Pakistani refugee climbed on top of the locomotive and rode for several hours in hopes of receiving asylum in Germany.
When the train staff heard suspicious sounds it was brought to a stop and the young man was arrested by local police. He first tried to escape but failed and hid under the train until he was discovered.

It turned out that the man had spent several days at the Italian-Austrian border where he was alone and couldn`t get help.

The police said that the young man`s undertaking was very dangerous and that he could have easily been injured or even killed. The teenager, however, seemed not to be aware of the grave danger he faced. According to police, he was lucky to have been found before something terrible happened.

In July, the Italian government even launched a project worth 1.5 million euros designed to increase the migrants` awareness of dangers and violence during their trip to Europe in a bid to discourage refugees from coming to Europe.

One of the most dangerous ways of entering Europe was by sea from Turkey to the European Union, frequently used by refugees before the EU-Turkey migrant deal. As result of such boats trips, many refugees, including small children, were injured or died.
