Under the order, a group of convicts has been freed from unserved part of their imprisonment, correctional labor and from the penalty in the form of a fine.
The pardon order signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev includes the names of several well-known persons as well.
The order applies to editor-in-chief of the Khural Newspaper Avaz Zeynalli, editor-in-chief of the P.S. Nota Newspaper Sardar Alibeyli, lawyer Gurban Mammadov, and members of the board of directors of NIDA Civic Movement Zaur Gurbanli and Uzeyir Mammadli.
Note that, a total of 79 prisoners are due to be released under the order signed today by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
