Israeli Knesset stands for peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict
Israeli’s Knesset (parliament) stands for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Hilik Bar, Knesset Deputy Speaker, Secretary General of Israel Labour Party (Avoda), addressing a meeting with a group of Azerbaijani journalists in Jerusalem Sept. 22.

“I wish Azerbaijanis and Armenians to find a will to come together and resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully,” said the deputy speaker.

He noted that now Israel is also a party to the conflict and has managed to solve its conflicts with Egypt and Jordan.

Hilik Bar also commented on Armenians’ desire to compare the so-called “Armenian genocide” with the Holocaust.

“As the grandson of a man who managed to survive from the Holocaust and representative of the people who experiences this tragedy, I can say that nothing can be compared with the Holocaust,” said the deputy speaker. “It doesn’t mean that no bloodshed occurs elsewhere in the world. People are killed every day in Syria, but it cannot be compared with the Holocaust. Unfortunately, the Jewish people experienced the most terrible and worst tragedy. Today the Israeli state exists to ensure that such a tragedy will no longer happen.”
