Israel following developments around Karabakh conflict – Foreign Ministry
Israel is following developments over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Rafael Harpaz, director of the Eurasian Department of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, former Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports citing APA.
Israel really hopes and believes that peace is the only solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he noted.

“This is based on our experience in our region. We hope that the international efforts headed by the OSCE Minsk Group will succeed, and we support these efforts,” said the former ambassador. “We also have good relations with Armenia. If there will be peace, we believe that the economic potential of the region will strengthen.

As for the plan to open an Azerbaijani embassy in Israel, Harpaz said. “We are in talks in this regard. However, the final decision will be taken by the Azerbaijani government.”

With regard to the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s planned visit to Azerbaijan, the former envoy stressed that the Israeli government is interested in the realization of this visit.
