According to the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan, a pre-referendum campaign starts 23 days before the day of voting and ends 24 hours before the day of voting.
On July 26, Azerbaijan’s PresidentIlham Aliyev signed an order on holding a referendum for making amendments to the country’s Constitution on Sept. 26, 2016.
Note that in accordance with the article 8.2 of the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, voting day shall be considered a non-working day within the territory where election (referendum) is held.
According to the requirements of this Code 26 September 2016 is a non-working day in Azerbaijan.
