1 shot dead, 5 wounded on Illinois University campus, shooter at large - UPDATED
Gunfire has been reported at the Champaign campus of the University of Illinois, according to local media. Shots were fired in an alleyway, and the shooter has left the area, police say.

Several shots have been fired on Green Street between Third and Fourth streets, the Daily Illini reported, citing an Illini Alert sent out on Sunday morning. The alert recommended local residents to stay away from the area, notifying of more information to come.

One person was killed and five others injured on Sunday morning in two shootings near the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, which the police believe to be related.

The first shooting occurred 12:30 a.m. after an argument at a house party spilled into the street and caused a brawl, during which shots were fired, the police said.
