Referendum voting begins at Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Istanbul
The voting in referendum on making amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution kicked off at Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Istanbul at 08:00 (Turkish time), Sept.26.

Those having residence permit in the service area of the Consulate General, registered at the Consulate General and being on a business trip to Turkey are voting.

Azerbaijan`s Consul General in Istanbul Masim Hajiyev told that there are 965 enfranchised Azerbaijani citizens.

“This referendum has arisen from the necessity to improve Azerbaijan’s political system in parallel with economy,” he said. “I’ve held meetings with the citizens in the big cities within the service area of the Consulate General and urged them to be active in the voting process. We have taken all measures in this regard,” he said.

The voting process will end at 19:00 pm local time. A report to be developed after the counting of votes will be submitted to relevant bodies.
