The fire occurred on Sept. 26 as a result of operations to eliminate the gas outburst at SOCAR’s platform.
According to the message, the fire was extinguished Sept. 27 morning and gas leaks were prevented.
Currently, SOCAR specialists are carrying out maintenance and repair works on the platform.
According to the message, all 69 people on the platform were evacuated.

The fire at the offshore platform Gunashli 19, which erupted due to gas leak, has been extinguished, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a joint statement Sept. 27.
