Azerbaijan to cease analog broadcasting

Azerbaijan’s National Television and Radio Council on Tuesday discussed the issue of transition to digital broadcasting in the country.
In accordance with the article #5.1.7 of the Action Plan on the implementation of the "State Program on the implementation of the National Strategy for Information Society Development in Azerbaijan for 2016-2020 years" approved under the Azerbaijani President’s order dated September 20, 2016, it was decided to cease analogue terrestrial broadcasting of TV programs in Baku and Absheron peninsula by November 1, 2016 and in other districts by December 1, 2016.
