Baku Forum allows to examine different models of multiculturalism
‘The sharing of good practices and lessons learnt will certainly help to lessen the difficulties faced in the East, are linked to those faced in the South or the West’, Michael Worbs, chairperson of the Executive Board of the UNESCO said in his speech at the V Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
‘The round table discussion examined different models of multiculturalism, questions of mass migration and sustainable development, and the role of journalism in the digital age amongst others`, Worbs noted.

Considering multiculturalism, it was a good idea to hold such event in the beautiful City of Baku, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated as an eternal city infused not only with Azerbaijani culture, but also outstanding and rare examples of Zoroastrian, Sassanian, Arabic, Persian, Shirvani, Ottoman, and Russian cultures as well, he highlighted.

Furthermore, Worbs touched on the outcomes of previous Baku Humanitarian Forums in developing the work or the UNESCO ensuring that co- operation constitutes base for their objectives to instill peace in the minds of men and women.

Importantly, partnerships with civil society will enable to settle the problems such as massive migration of peoples, Global climate change, conflict or tensions in the countries and others.

The outcomes developed in the Baku Forum will definitely contribute to accomplishing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and other internationally-agreed development goals.
