SOCAR liquidates representative office in Austria
The Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office in Austria was liquidated and is no longer functioning due to reforms and restructuring process within the company, Gulmirza Javadov, head of the company’s office, said in a letter to media Oct. 4.
“As a result of restructuring process within SOCAR, the company’s representative office in Vienna, as well as all its other representative offices in their respective countries are liquidated,” the letter said. “SOCAR Trading offices and its other companies abroad such as overseas SOCAR Energy companies will continue to exist and successfully operate.”

Decision was made in December 2015 to suspend the activity of SOCAR’s all representative offices abroad.

SOCAR produces and exports oil and gas. The company is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan with filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.

SOCAR exported 1.23 million tons of oil products in 2015 as compared to 1.2 million tons exported in 2014.
