“We know what Azerbaijan’s Navy needs, and we are ready to support modernization of the newly built naval base of the country,” Yilmaz said. “Azerbaijan also needs new warships, and the STM can deliver MİLGEM corvettes to the country’s navy.”
He added that negotiations with the Azerbaijani side on this issue have been going on for already 2.5 years.
The general director of the STM said that ADEX 2016 exhibition demonstrated the contribution the Turkish side can make to ensure the needs of Azerbaijan in the defense sphere.
Fast patrol boats and corvettes designed for Turkey’s Navy were presented within the framework of the exhibition.
The projects, which may be developed for Azerbaijan’s Navy, which is in the restructuring process, were also discussed.
