Development of Turkey-Russia ties may have positive effect on Karabakh conflict settlement
The development of Turkey-Russia relations may also have a positive effect on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ali Resul Usul, chairman of the Center for Strategic Research of Turkey`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters in Baku Oct. 7.
“Even after the downing of a Russian jet, diplomatic ties between Russia and Turkey did not stop. For one thing, Turkey did not recall its ambassador to Russia. Neither did Russia recall its ambassador to Turkey,” he said.

Usul noted that Russia and Turkey need each other.

“It’s no secret that Russia and Turkey have some differences of opinion regarding certain issues, namely the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine. Nonetheless, the two countries need each other,” said the Turkish foreign ministry official.

He added that development of Turkey-Russia relations may also have a positive effect on settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
