Israeli ambassador says 2014 was good year for relations with Azerbaijan
Last year was very good for relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, the country`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz told Trend Jan. 7.

He recalled that in 2014, there were several meetings between the Azerbaijani and Israeli leaders, and these meetings are signs of good relations.

He said there were a lot of very positive developments and a lot of activities when it comes to political discussions and economic relations.

The ambassador added that several agreements were signed between Azerbaijan and Israel in 2014, and expressed hope that more things will be done next year.

“We hope to sign few agreements in the economic area,” he said, adding that the two countries are at the final stage of approving a standardization agreement and double taxation avoidance agreement.

“Tourism is another very important area,” the ambassador said, adding that direct flights between Azerbaijan and the US are very attractive and there are already Israelis and Jews using these flights.

Touching upon the importance of the Baku 2015 First European Games, Ambassador Harpaz said this sporting event will be successful and Israel supported it.
