TANAP – backbone of Southern Gas Corridor - Turkish PM
The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline project is the backbone of the Southern Gas Corridor project, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said addressing the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul Oct. 10.
The PM noted that the implementation of the Turkey-Azerbaijan project TANAP, which plays a crucial role in ensuring Europe’s energy sector, continues successfully.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipelines are two successful elements of the East-West Corridor, he added.

Stressing that Turkey is among the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries most in need of energy, Yildirim said that Turkey is the largest importer of electricity after China.
