Latif Huseynov elected as judge to the ECHR from Azerbaijan
On October 11, as part of the PACE parliamentary session, held elections for judges of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) from Azerbaijan and Macedonia.
Latif Huseynov was elected as judge to the ECHR from Azerbaijan, winning majority of votes (134 votes).

Other candidates from Azerbaijan Abiyev Kemal won 35 votes, Rovshan Ismayilov - 9 votes. In the vote was attended by 203 parliamentarians, of which only 25 abstained.

According to the 14th protocol of the European Convention of Human Rights, L. Huseynov will execute the office of 9 years. He will take up office after 3 months.
