"Say sorry" to Azerbaijan!
Veterans addressed German Government
“The whole world marks 68th anniversary of the end of World War II. In this war Azerbaijani people have also shown heroism and played an important role in salvation of European people from the horrors of fascism”, veterans of the Great Patriotic War addressed these comments to the German Government.

They veterans expressed their gratitude to the state and society for special care and support and respect for the memory of the war victims:

“Special attention by the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev towards the participants of the Great World War, their families and the people who did their best back line has proved the greatest support.

We have felt causalities of war, violence committed by German fascists and their allies. The number of people who remember 1941-1945 war is being reduced day –by day.

However, neither we, nor Azerbaijani people have seen an officially apologize of Germany so far.

Instead of this we are witnessing increase of nationalism in Germany with great concern, and hear about attacks towards foreigners, particularly to Muslims and killing them. We understand the threat of the policy of ignoring nationalism better than the current generation. German government’s inactive approach towards this issue can lead to new tragedies.

We consider that we not only could ensure peace in Europe, but also contributed Germany to become a developed democratic state.

We want Germany to appologize officially and providing Azerbaijani veterans with necessary compensiations as it did with other countries due to the results of the World War II.

We also call German government to strengthen the fight against the nationalism and extremism, and take relevant steps in order not to repeat the very mistakes which had tragic results for entire world before”.
