Shoe thrown on Turkish opposition leader
A shoe was thrown on the leader of the Turkish Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, during a meeting of the party, TRT Haber news channel said Jan. 8.

However the identity of the person, who threw the shoe, wasn’t reported.

Shoe-throwing, or shoeing, showing the sole of one’s shoe or using shoes to insult are forms of protest in many parts of the world. Incidents where shoes were thrown at political figures have taken place in Australia, India, Ireland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, the UK, the US, and the Arab world.
