At least 500 police officers stage protest in Paris against conditions of work
About 500 police officers took to the Avenue des Champs-Elysees to protest against deteriorating conditions of their work.
A total of 500 police officers staged a demonstration at the Avenue des Champs-Elysees in the center of Paris to protest deteriorating conditions of their work and to support their colleague who was injured in a clash with hooligans earlier this week, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to BFMTV broadcaster, the demonstration took place on Monday night in front of the Saint-Louis hospital where a police officer who sustained serious injures on October 8 was receiving treatment. On that day, a violent clash between police officers and a group of 15 young people occurred, an officer received serious burns of body surface and was put in coma. Police officers were driving their cars around the main Paris boulevard with their sirens turned on. The demonstration was spontaneous, the broadcaster added.
