The best example of bilateral ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Croatia as well as Croatia’s popularization in Azerbaijan is the excellent work produced by Robert Prosinecki, the head coach of Azerbaijan’s national football team, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said following his meeting with his Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Monday.
“After having waited for so many years, we are now proud of our national team, because under his guidance our team holds the second place in the group. After three games, we have seven points, two wins, and a draw. This is a remarkable result. Of course, what he has been able to do is appreciated not only by football fans, but also our people. And of course, everyone knows that he is from Croatia. He is a good ambassador of your country. So I would like to thank him for his successful work. This is a good example of our cooperation and Ms President’s visit opens new opportunities for this,” said President Aliyev.
