Greek journalists to go on 5-Hour strike against pension legislation on Tuesday
"The strike involves all journalists working in all private, state and public media … on a public radio and the ERT television channel, at the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), at general secretariat of information and press and at press services, in order to protect their rights," the ESIEA`s statement read. All media, portal, and public organization journalists will stop working from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. local time (8:00 – 13:00 GMT).
The strike is held to allow the journalists to attend a general meeting of their social insurance and healthcare fund EDOEAP, where they would discuss new pension legislation, leaving media-sector employees effectively uninsured.
