Armenia delays Chiragovs`case
More than one year passes from the final judgment on the case “Chiragov and others vs Armenia” made by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human rights which was filed by Azerbaijani IDPs from Nagorno-Karabakh (July 16, 2015).
The case covers the complaints by Azerbaijani refugees that they have been unable to return to their homes and properties in Lachin district, from where they were forced to flee in 1992 during the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The European Court ascertained that citizens must reach to an agreement with the responsible state on the amount of compensation during the period of 12 months. If the agreement is not reached, the European court will make a decision on the case.

`The meeting with lawmakers on this issue is expected soon`, Fakhraddin Pashayev, an IDP from Armenian-occupied Lachin region of Azerbaijan told AzVision.az.

`The time given to the sides ended long ago. The court can make a decision sooner or later. Probably, if we are able to solve the financial issues, we will visit London to meet with lawmakers`, he added.

He also contacted with lawmakers 15 days ago and there is not any new information on the case.
