He made the remarks commenting on the results of the presidential election in the US.
“The American people made its choice yesterday. They chose Donald Trump as their president,” noted Hasanov.
He reminded that Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter on this occasion.
Azerbaijan actively cooperates with the US in the spheres of energy, transport corridors and security, the presidential aide said, expressing hope for further development of the cooperation.
As for Azerbaijan’s expectation regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Hasanov said the US is one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group dealing with the conflict’s settlement.
“In his congratulatory letter, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that after Donald Trump’s victory the US will increase momentum and further step up its activities within the OSCE Minsk Group. We believe the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be solved at last,” added Hasanov.
