`Why do int’l organizations not react to post-election violence in US?`
“Donald Trump’s election as US president became an unexpected, unpredictable event for the world,” Novruz Mammadov, deputy head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration and head of the foreign relations department, said in a statement to AzVision.az.
Mammadov most of leading TV channels and centers of strategic study had predicted that Donald Trump would not win the election.

“This election was a surprise to the United States and even to the candidate himself. The world is kind of bewildered. What’s happen next? What internal and foreign policy changes are going to occur in the US? Who will be in the team? Will it be possible to fulfill the candidate’s promises? There is no specific position on this regard. Major states do not have an accurate, specific position, either. In all countries there were negative statements about Trump, but after the election they changed completely and began claiming that he is a great politician. There were similar opinions in the US itself. So many centers, TV channels, newspapers, politicians do not understand anything of the ongoing processes and are unable to formulate the right decision. Or they are just hypocrite and had launched an artificial campaign. Both options are bad,” said Mammadov.

He said Trump himself was not sure that he would win.

"Therefore he was saying that he would not accept the election results and that the election would be rigged. Today America is divided into two. All this can create some problems for America. There are protests in major cities. What are international organizations doing now? It’s time for hibernation. Why Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are silent? There was a small protest in 2003, when Ilham Aliyev was elected President of Azerbaijan. They talked about it for a long time. Now there is some violence that has been ongoing for three or four days, tear gas is being used, and protesters are being beaten. But no one looks at these through the prism of democracy and human rights. Even in the USA most people saw that the issue of justice in their country can be questioned,” he said.
