Russia interested in increase of passenger and cargo transportations with Azerbaijan
Transport cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan is reazlied on the basis of existing contracts. Currently, transport bodies of the both countries fully meet the demand for passenger and cargo transportations, Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov told AzVision.az.
According to him, representatives of Russian and Azerbaijani Transport Ministries have held several meetings and discussed actual issues: “So, in October, next meeting of joint commission on cooperation in international road transport between Azerbaijan and Russia. The sides discussed important issues on cooperation in motor transport. Moreover, a decision was passed on increase of number of permits for cargo transportation between Azerbaijan and Russia on increase of the volume of cargo transportation”.

Sokolov also touched upon the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan in railway transport.

The Russian minister also spoke about the development perspectives of air and sea transport between the two countries: “I hope negotiations on development of air and sea transport will be held by the year-end. I think the topic will be creation of favourable condition or increase of passenger and cargo transportation between the two countries”.

Sokolov also spoke about the development of cooperation in road economy and said new bridge over the Samur River is very significant for this purpose.
