Iran unilaterally abolished the visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens and the vice versa was discussed during President Hassan Rouhani’s latest visit to Baku, Iran`s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Hassan Ghashghavi told AzVision.az.
“The Azerbaijani side promised to offer visa-related privileges for Iranian citizens but did not promise to lift the visa regime once and for all,” he said. “Nevertheless, if new privileges are offered, simplification of the visa regime and prisoner swaps will be the most significant work between the two countries.”
