Tehran: Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia trilateral format may be expanded
The next trilateral meeting of Iranian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents may be held in Tehran in 2017, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi told a press conference on Monday, APA’s correspondent reported from Tehran.
He noted that trilateral summit serves further development of relations between the countries.

“I think the [trilateral format] may be changed, involving the leaders of several countries,” said Qasemi.

He added that the exact date of the meeting of Iranian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents is not yet known.

Answering questions about the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election, the spokesman recalled that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) ensuring that Iran`s nuclear program is peaceful was agreed by several countries.

“The agreement was approved by the UN. It is not an agreement reached by the two countries, so no side can violate it,” he added.
