Pakistan installs world’s highest automated teller machine on border with China
Pakistan has inaugurated an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located at a height of 15, 397 feet at Khunjerab Pass in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of the Pakistan Administered Kashmir.
The ATM will run on clean energy and serve not only army personnel posted in the region but also tourists visiting the picturesque region of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The highest ATM in the world will not only serve army personnel posted in this region but will be a boon for the tourists visiting this picturesque region.

The ATM operated by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) was inaugurated by Lt General (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The ATM will also benefit trade and business activities which is likely to increase after the operationalization of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor which passes through this region. This ATM will be run on solar and wind energy to preserve the pristine environment of Gilgit-Baltistan.
