Azerbaijani President instructs to send fire-fighting plane to Israel
Azerbaijan will send a fire-fighting plane to Israel in response to an appeal by the Israeli government for help in fighting wildfires raging through the country, the Emergency Situations Ministry told on Friday.

The ministry stated that under relevant instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, preparatory work has been started on sending BE-200CS amphibious aircraft with necessary fire-fighting equipment to Israel.

About 80,000 people have been told to evacuate their homes as wildfires swept into Israel`s third largest city of Haifa.

The fires follow a two-month drought and are being fanned by strong winds in the north of the city. Wildfires are also threatening homes near Jerusalem and in the West Bank.
