Hackers attack Syrian information ministry’s website

The Syrian Ministry of Information said its official website was attacked by hackers on Monday, who posted "false news" to the portal.

Control over the website was later regained.

"The process of hacking and piracy came in the framework of the media and propaganda war hatched against Syria and a flagrant attempt to broadcast false news and distort facts," the state-run SANA news agency quoted a source at the ministry as saying.
