The EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Malena Mard said the Southern Gas Corridor project will further strengthen the energy relations between the EU and Azerbaijan.
She reminded that a mandate was issued to commence talks on a new EU-Azerbaijan agreement.
Mard also highlighted the significance of defining and discussing the energy issues.
Natig Abbasov, in turn, said that every signed document must secure cooperation development if the interests of the two sides are maintained.
The parties also discussed the possible impact of the Turkish Stream project on the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor, energy cooperation with Iran, as well as energy efficiency issues.
