Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union Houlin Zhao stressed the importance of Bakutel 2016, the 22nd Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference on Telecommunications and Information Technologies. He said the number of countries and companies that have their stands at the exhibition increased this year, and described this as a sign of growing interest in Azerbaijan. Houlin Zhao emphasized President Ilham Aliyev`s huge support for the information and communication technologies sector, saying Azerbaijan has numerous partners in this area.
President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan has already made great strides in the field of information and communication technologies, adding that Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference Telecommunications and Information Technologies has become a good tradition. The head of state expressed his pleasure that Bakutel is the only exhibition and conference of its kind in the region. The President said more than 100 companies are represented at this year`s event, adding that Azerbaijan built partner relations with a large number of leading companies specializing in information and communication technologies. President Ilham Aliyev thanked Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union Houlin Zhao for supporting the ICT sector, and stressed the importance of their meeting in terms of discussing the issues relating to cooperation.
