Knife-Wielding student in critical condition after being shot by Nevada police
The report stated that, according to authorities, the incident began as an altercation between two students then escalated after one of the students wielded a knife and threatened to attack others.
A school police officer told the student to drop the knife, but the student refused to cooperate, the report added. The officer shot the boy and then provided medical attention, the report noted.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Reno Police Department stated on its Twitter account that it responded to reports of shots fired at Hug High School.
