President offers condolences to Pakistani counterpart over plane crash
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has extended condolences to Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain over the death of passengers and crew of a Pakistan International Airlines passenger plane that crashed near Havelian on Wednesday.
“Dear Mr. President, I have been deeply saddened by the news of numerous casualties as a result of a plane crash in Pakistan,” President Aliyev said in his message of condolences.

“On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I extend my deep condolences to you, families and the loved ones of those who died, and the brotherly people of Pakistan. May Allah have mercy on them!” said the Azerbaijani president.

A turboprop ATR-42 plane, en route from Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhva province, to Islamabad, crashed on Wednesday. There were 42 passengers, five crew members and one engineer on board. There were no survivors.
