Kate Middleton wears Princess Diana’s tiara for the second time
In light of the ascendency of Meghan Markle, the focus for royal watchers has been centered less on Kate Middleton (and William, George, and Charlotte) lately than we are used to. In a way, this is probably sort of nice for the Duchess: a bit of a let-up on the constant barrage of news stories and rumors that she faces on a daily basis generally.
But if there is one way to remind everyone that you are the Duchess of Cambridge, goddamit, and have been doing this for a very long time, it’s making an arrival in a tiara—in one Princess Diana wore, no less. This is the second time that Kate has worn the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, which was given to Diana as a wedding present from the Queen in 1981. Kate paired it with a red Jenny Packham dress, and a pair of diamond earrings.

This event—for an annual event at Buckingham Palace honoring Britain’s diplomatic community—marks only the fifth time since she married William that she has worn a tiara.
