Ukraine`s population fell to 45 million
In May the population of Ukraine decreased by 0.02% or 7.7 thousand people compared with April, and as of June 1 Ukraine`s population was 45 565.900 people, the State Statistics Service reported.
The urban population amounted 31 340.800 people as of June 1, which is by 0.02% or 6.300 people less than on May 1, the rural population numbered 14 225.100 people, which is by 0,01%, or 1.400 persons less compared with the previous month.

In April the population of Ukraine fell by 0.03% or 15.600 persons compared with March, and as of May 1 it was 45 573.600 people.

In 2011 the population of Ukraine decreased by 0.3% or 144.900 people.

According to the nationwide census conducted in December 2001, Ukraine`s population comprised 48 415.500 people, including 32 538 people living in the urban and 15 877.500 people the in rural areas.
